.MY Registry Lock (“Service”) is a designated service that protects domain names from unauthorized or accidental changes at the registry level.
This Service is available through
MYNIC Accredited Registrars, who will manage the activation, update, or removal of the Service on behalf of the Registrant.
When a domain name is protected under .MY Registry Lock, the following actions shall be restricted:
Updating Registrant, Admin, Billing, or Technical contact details.
Changing the Registrant (domain name holder).
Updating nameservers.
Updating DNSSEC.
Transferring the domain name to another Registrar.
Deleting the domain name upon request by the Registrant.
The Service does not affect the following:
Normal domain lifecycle, including expiry of domain name due to unpaid renewal fees.
Any changes that MYNIC is required to implement pursuant to a court order or directives from law enforcement authorities in Malaysia.
Deletion, suspension or transfer of domain name in accordance with the Numbering and Electronic Addressing Plan (NEAP) and MYNIC policies.
Modification of the Authorized Contact assigned for the Service.
The Authorized Contact must be individuals associated with the Registrar (i.e. Registrar’s staffs) with a maximum of two Authorized Contacts. Only the Authorized Contact is allowed to manage the Service, including any request to activate, update or remove the Registry Lock on behalf of the Registrant.
The Registrar must ensure Authorized Contact details are accurate and current, and Authorized Contacts are required to keep any authentication codes they receive confidential and secure.
All applicable fees must be paid at the time of application and are non-refundable.
The Service will share the same expiration date as the registered domain name.
If the Service is activated after the domain name registration date, the fee will be calculated on a prorated monthly basis.
The Service will be automatically renewed together with the domain name, with applicable fees charged, and will automatically end if the domain name is not renewed or is deleted. To discontinue the Service or to transfer the domain name to another Registrar, the Registrant must terminate the Service first before the domain name renewal date. If the Service is still required, the new Service application must be submitted after the transfer registrar process is completed.
MYNIC reserves the right to revise, amend, these terms & conditions or discontinue the Service at any time, with the publication on MYNIC website deemed as sufficient notice to the Registrar and Registrant of such revision, amendments to these terms & conditions or discontinuation of the Service.
By subscribing to this Service, the Registrar and Registrant shall comply with MYNIC’s policies which are published at MYNIC website.
